My first ever MOTORCYCLE!!!

Post by High Society »

So I got this last week as my daily driver, and I'm so stoked!!! It's an 01 DRZ400E, which has been swapped over to an SM (super moto) version. I just picked up a new helmet and gloves today, and I'll soon be getting a jacket next pay day :excited: The last pic is a bit shakey, sorry about that. I need to clean up the exhuast with some rust cleaner, and repaint it with some high temp paint.

Cool. I owned a Suzuki trike way back when. It was a good machine.

I loved riding bikes. Not bragging (mabey a little) but I was extremely fast on a YZ125cc bike. I miss that little bitch. I sold it after my accident and then it was stolen. My poor baby.

Dang wish you lived in Washington, we could go riding. I have an XR250, and I almost never get to go anymore, everyone else is so busy.

Nice Ninja, since I started a new job and have to drive a lot. I've been thinking about getting a bike. but every day it rains here, it changes my mind back quickly.
Anyways here is my dirt bike. Just put a new seat cover on it, bike looks so much newer now. It's an 87

Nice Bikes! Chris, I was eyeing a XR400, but ending up with the DRZ because it fit my riding stlye better. Just bust out the rain gear btw. That Ninja is sweet! I could have gotten a ninja 250, but I like dirt bikes a bit more and it's pretty much all city driving here so the SM was the choice.

Ya the XR's are the tanks of the dirt bike world. not really fast, but they'll plow through anything. (lol)
What I love about the bike the most is, they require almost no maintenance at all. All I do is grease the shocks, and change the oil a couple times a summer. I've never once in 20+ years, done anything else to it! It starts right up, doesn't smoke and runs all day long.

I had a friend who had a Ninja want to say 600?? It was an older one, he was trying to sell it and I had it my house for a few months. Just to make sure the battery kept charged, I had to take it out every a couple days. :)

That was probably pretty fun to ride! Yea the XR are very tough bikes! But like most things, if you take care of your stuff it should last.
