Cracked RE
Last night I found a crack on one of my 8's, it extends from the tip of the surround till the edge of the dust cap. It's really hard to see it since I put the crack at level with each other, but I was wondering how big of a problem this is, and how can I fix it?

Well I got the fix for you. Same thing I did to these 10" ARCs.
Goto WAL Mart and get some fiberglass cloth and find some quality CA/Super Glue- not the cheap crap!
First put masking tape on the inside of the cone (where the logo is) so the glue doesnt seep thru the crack.
Cut a small piece of cloth that extends about 1-2" or so wide and to the needed length.
Lay cloth on back side of cone. Grab a few nice long tooth picks. Start from the lower center- drip a drop of glue- it will soak and sread. Blow on it a bit to aid in this. Give it a 30-i minute between drops while blowing on it or use a fan. DO this slowly until the whole piece of cloth is covered while using the toohpicks to press and hold the cloth down.
You will see when the cloth is covered...

Use good glue=better results, better adhesion and more strength.
CA Glue from Hobby Stores is the BEST to use- DONT GET GEL!
Why just the back?
Well first is obvious- looks. The patch would make the sub look like crap.
The glue should have enough adhesion to hold the cloth tight to the cone and make the cloth strong.
Its the only way to fix this

I doubt the crack was from inferior material...
But I would give them a call and see. Maybe tell them it one you purchased? Dunno...
