Someone dumped this little guy in the middle of nowhere on the highway. One of my sister's friends found him as he climbed out of the ditch a week ago. He's the sweetest little thing.

My sister is driving him about seven hours north of here to some friends. They want him real bad. They're great people, so I'm happy that he's going to an awesome home. I would've taken him if nobody else wanted him.

He's a little sweetie.

People can be so mean man, just dumping the little guy out on the road, and abusing animals. I have a real soft spot for animals.

Yea, I really cannot understand why you would ever hurt, torture, or kill an animal that wasn't attacking you.

As far as him not liking to be picked up, that is probably because he was never picked up when he was younger. He also may need to get used to you and understand that you are the food bringer. I think he may let you do a lot more once he really knows you are his master.

It's just how Toby is. I have a cat like that myself. Had him since he was about 3 weeks old. The first one I raised from a kiten, so it was a learning experience.
I can pick him up, pet him, etc. He's very affectionate, but he's temperamental, poly-dactyl, big, and very fast. When he isn't in the mood to be messed with, he'll warn you once, then he'll latch onto your arm with all four paws, dig in, and bite the sh*t out of you. I've learned to read his body language, and I'm the only one he listens to but he still gets me once in a while, but I love him, so he stays.

The other 16 are pretty docile all of the time, save for a couple of shy ones, and one still semi-feral one I'm working on calming down. She's fine as long as she doesn't get cornered.

This is Tiger Many-Toes. The occasionally mean one.

The other 16? That's a lot of cats.

My uncles GF started collecting strays, she probably has around 30+ outside cats, 10+ inside cats. Their whole yard (5 acres) smells like cat feces, it's retarded. When you pull into their driveway strays going running, it's crazy looking. She just keeps setting out cat food, and they keep multiplying.

She takes good care of them (as good as you can I suppose), but it's to the point where something needs to be done.

With 16 cats it must be an 8 hour day of cleaning up after them... lol

Especially as clean as you place always looks.

Im learning to read his body language. I back off before he bites... lol

Its not so bad.
5 litter boxes. cleaned twice per day.
Two of the boxes are 30 lbs of litter each thouch. big boxes.
Takes me maybe half an hour, plus feeding time. Otherwise it's just a matter of paying attention to them and such, which is easy to do.

At least it sounds like your taking really good care of them.
