audiobass10's beer recommendations

Post by William from NOLA »

Taken from captainpioneer's thread, I figured this would be better off in its own.

It depends what kind of beer you like. There is a lot of good beer out there. Trappist Ales are my favorite to collect.

I'll just list some random stuff that pops in my head:
Beamish
Murphy's Irish Stout
Warsteiner
Delirium Nocturnum
Mikkeller Beer Geek
Rogue Dead Guy
Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock
Duuval
Guiness
St. Bernardus (any of them)

If you're a man:
EKU 28

If you're not:
Newcastle Brown
Zima? lol

I like to keep the bottles of stuff that I like. I wish I would have started collecting them earlier. This is a lot of what I have so far:

I like Abita, but I may be partial because it is brewed locally. The brewery gives a free tour and you get to "sample" as much as you want. If you mix Andygator and Purple Haze (1/2 and 1/2), you get what they call a Barney. It is really good. I recommend it :D

Right this second, I'm trying my first Finnish beer. It's Sinebrychoff Porter IV. It is pretty good. Smooth with roasted hops and a slight caramel/chocolate flavor.

I'm not a fancy beer drinker by any means so i usually stick to the basics: Bud Light, Miller Light, Natural Light, Coors Light. I really enjoy a nice cold Yuengling every once in a while. Purple Haze was real good the one time i've tried it. Yuengling Dark and Tan was pretty good too, for a dark beer. I really hate Guiness. I guess it would be one of those aquired tastes, but i can't stand it. Not a fan of Heniken either. One of my favorites to have on occasions is Blue Moon, with a little orange in it. Delicious! I'm always open to try new stuff though so keep the suggestions coming.

You probably haven't heard of these brands but these are my three fav's.

Pilsner.

We call it the pill. Like, "here bro, take a Pil and chill."

or...

Question: "Hey, you want a rye and coke/ski?... Answer: "No thanks, I'm on the Pil.

Here's the website for Pilsner but it may not work for you guys.

http://www.oldstylepilsner.com/

Here's the wiki on it. Pilsner

Molson Canadian

Kokanee
