Skeet Shooint WTB a shotgun.

Post by CaptainPioneer »

I recently went Skeet shooting at a local gun club around my area... I had a ton of fun doing it. Now I'm hooked and really want a dedicated shotgun for this...

I am realistically only looking for two specific guns...

The Remington 1100 and the Beretta 391... and both must have a 30" barrel.

Bill you are the resident gun nut... I mean enthusiast, what say you?

Want a better gun for less than half the price? or are you looking for a gun that is a status symbol?

You can be honest i have a gun for both purposes lol.

Y are you dead set on the 30" barrel? I actually shoot skeet better with a 28" i wouldnt go under a 26" though.

I have one i have the 28" version and it is a fantastic gun. It requires a break in on the gas system of about 100 heavy loads i shot 1-1/4oz about 150 times and then tuned the adjustable gas system and it runs like a top with my reloads. If your going to get into skeet, Buy this gun and spend the rest on a reloading setup.

The only reason I am dead set on the 30" is because i shot 3 guns on sunday...

12g Benelli ... freaking amazing... 30" barrel on that... I was hitting targets without problems.
12g Remington 1100 12g 28"barrel It was similar to the Beneli except for the 2" difference

O/U 20g that I hated... i think it was a 26" barrel and I couldn't hit shit with it.

What is the one that is half the price and better?

The one in the link i posted lol,

20ga patterns are much diffrent than a 12ga and thats not taking into account what the choke difference is.

From what you told me about what you were shooting i can not make one single determination what would be better for you barrel wise or anything else. This shotgun i posted is a russian made gun and it is fantastic. Check out Baikal MP-153 on youtube.

ill post some pictures of mine later tonight.

I think part of the reason I liked the longer barrel is the smoothness of the swing and the fact that i have a longer arm extension on the grip... on the 20g I was basically grabbing the barrel... I did not like that at all...

That just means you like a longer comb on the gun. The barrel really doesn't have an affect on that. But if your comfortable with it get it.

No its a Russian built shotgun imported by EAA and then re-badged for Remington or EAA.

There is nothing wrong with the guns from Wal-Mart there all the same thing as any other gun sold else where. The Beretta 390 is a great gun you get these elitist pricks that bitch and moan because they spent 2k on a Beretta shotgun and then Beretta produces a price point shotgun and these guys go ape shit turn on there brand and call it trash.
