The ones we love will always be with us in our hearts, minds, and souls... As long as we remember them their spirit will always shine through us.
I've seen you speak kindly and lovingly of your mother here many times, and can tell you I've prayed for you then and will continue to do so now.
Be strong my young brother.

Thanks alot. I agree with you, she may be gone physically, but never spiritually. Today was her memorial service, having family and friends made it easier. Even the people of her church who I've only met a handful of times made it easier through their memories of my mother, it was a sad day, but a good one at the same time.

We're going to spread her ashes on top of her fathers grave, he died when she was 17, but she thought the world of him (just like we thought the world of her.) My grandma meant a lot to her as well, but my grandpa just sorta "took the cake" as they say. We decided to go to her church sunday morning, then spread her ashes right afterwards. It's going to be sad saying goodbye on mothers day, but it seems like something she'd want.

I am sorry to hear about your loss bro. I am glad to hear that she was a woman of faith. I also feel your pain about the good-byes for mothers day, my mother passed away just a year ago. I still chat with her at night sometimes. I talk, she listens. My prayers are with you and your family.

that sucks man. i have read this thread a few times over the last couple days and dont even knowwhat to say. i think joe has nailed it though. life on this earth is short and sometimes too short but only for those of us left behind. for those who move on to be with the lord, im sure they know a happiness we cant even imagine.

Thanks Terry.

I always had a little doubt about rather or not there was a god/heaven.

My mom's preacher told me something that made a lot of sense. He said believing in god and heaven brings him peace, and that if when he dies neither exist then it really doesn't matter.

BUT

If he didn't believe in god and heaven and they turned out to be real, well...

I still have a hard time believing that somebody of another faith (say Jewish or whatever) will go to hell, and still pretty much refuse to tell anybody their choice of whatever religion is wrong, because I think everybody should choose what feels right to them.

Well as far as the Jewish religion goes... This will make you feel a lil better about them too...
We have the same God and Jesus was born a Jew :)
I don't mean to turn this into a politically correct religious thread, just trying to make you feel better about the entire perspective.
And your Pastor was actually quoting another very smart man on this subject as those words were first spoken famously by Orson Wells.

My own side note: I believe God puts us here for a purpose and to touch the lives of others. I believe from all that you've said of your mother (now and in the past) & that she more than filled her purposes and why she has been chosen to be with him.

Hey buddy, I am so sorry to hear about your mom.

I know you may have mixed feelings about Faith and Jesus and Heaven,
but I found this for ya anyway; Php 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. My heart goes out to ya, and I am truly sorry.

If you need me pm and Ill give you my phone number.

We are all family here and if you need to talk lay it on us.

Tim
