Advice from the older and wiser...
Im in the process of filing for disability for the 3rd time. I have a lawyer who is taking my case if i get turned down. None of my doctors want to fill out forms for me though. The D.C who has been in charge of my treatment (yes a chiropractor is the one who figured out whats wrong with me through medical testing) said he would sign the papers and let me fill them out. It wants medical diagnosis and things which I cant fill out. So if he wont fill it out what should I do?
I dont even know if its legal for me to fill out forms that a doctor is supposed to fill out. My mom is currently 3000 dollars extra in debt due to my being sick on top of her other 15,000 in debt. Being that I cant work i need this disability. Ive been diagnosed with arthritis also. I dunno just seeking some wisdom from some of you guys if you have ever dealt with this stuff.
Thanks

Don't take what I'm about to say wrong, just trying to share how the system works.Mithrandir wrote:Im in the process of filing for disability for the 3rd time. Disability is going to be next to impossible for a young guy without hiring a lawyer. Even then it can be tricky. You'll almost always get rejected the first couple times you apply, it doesnt matter if you need it or not.
Theres people who get it that shouldnt. Theres people who dont get it that should. It's stupid, I dont know what system they use to figure out who gets it and who doesnt, but it's severely flawed...
It sucks, because you dont want to see somebody get rejected if they truely need it, but for I'd venture to say 9 out of 10 that get rejected dont actually need disability, they need a career change (to something they are capable of doing.)
I dont know your physical/mental capabilities, so I truely have no opinion on rather or not you should get it. All I can say is youre probably going to have to fight for it, and it may take years. I hope for the best for ya buddy!
I suggest you get a lawyer ASAP, theres some out that don't charge unless you get your claim, than they do charge a good chunk but atleast you'd have montly income and health benefits...

If your doctors wont fill out the paper work you wont get anything.
I dont know how far a chiropractors diagnosis will get you either.

I agree with Ryan, its going to be hard getting disability if your doctors arent willing to fill out the paper work for you.
If your current doctor is okaying you for work and you honestly don't think your physical or mentally able to work, you should look for another doctor.
Fall of 2007 I racing against my cousin (quads), got a little carried away, didnt make a turn, went off the trail, hit a telephone pole, flew off the quad and tumbled into a tree (hitting my knee HARD.) It took was about a week before I could start putting weight on it, I had to hobble around. At the time I was working 12.5 hour shifts, standing the whole time... :help:
It never really healed right, it would make a strange popping/grinding noise if I stepped on it wrong, then it would be real sore for a few days. Than it go back to normal until the next time I stepped wrong.
Fast forward to july of 2008, I stepped off a ladder and my knee popped and gave out. I had to hobble around for a week. I was right in the middle of two painting jobs (houses), it sucked carrying around the ladder, let alone climbing it.
Fast forward to nov-dec of 2008. I was running up my sisters stairs (concrete) and my knee buckled, and I smashed my knee on the edge of the stairs and had to crawl/slid into her house. I kept ice on it (my mom had a knee brace that circulated ice water through it), after a week or so I got to where I could kind of sorta hobble around my apartment, but I live in an upstairs so it took forever to get up and down the stairs....
Now when the weather changes my knee get sore (arthritis?) It still pops every now and again, stays for all day afterwards.
Heres a picture of it that I took tonight. It's still bruised..

Point is, sometimes you no matter how back it hurts, you just have to work through it.

yeah i know 2 people who are able to work but sit home all day on disability.
I have a lawyer and i switched doctors 3 times in this last year. Im going to attempt to get them to do it. Lawyer said he was pretty sure I would win considering my circumstances. Just a matter of getting the stupid doctors to fill shit out.
If not im just gonna keep pushin doctors to give me painpills until I have something I can sell until im able to work. (dead serious) if i can get a bottle of perc 10s, i can make 5 bucks a pill on em. 30 a month thats 30x5 thats 150 and if i get more who knows. (yes seriously desperate no its not the best idea but anything that brings money will work)
This is just frustrating.

I know it sucks to struggle with money issues and all, but I dont think selling your pain pills is a step in the right direction. I think you'd be much better enrolling in college and finding a job youre able to do.
If youre eligible for student loans, you can probably live off those while going to college (its not alot, but probably 10-15k a year.) Obviously you'd have to pay that back when your finished with school (monthly payments), but once you get a degree you should be able to find a decent paying job that your able to do. I would suggest the medical field (nurse, x-ray tech, ect, ect)
I'm a firm believe theres a right path out there. You just have to find it, if youre willing. Lord know's I havent found mine yet, but I getting there.
I hope you get your disability (if you truely need it), but I also hope that if you sell your pills you get caught and punished. Theres enough drug addicts in the world, you don't need to be the hands that feeds them.
The easy road is rarely gets you anywhere worth going...

I know that, believe me i was planning on going to school but couldnt get loans or money and then i got sick. Unless i get whatevers wrong cured there is no point in even trying to go to school, and if i still cant get a loan ill have to find a job and god knows u cant afford to go to school when working minimum wage lol.
Thats the way the world works though, rich get richer, the poor get poorer.
theres nothing wrong with taking pain killers to get a buzz if you do it responsibly hell a lot of doctors take opiates but they do it in secret. Its all about moderation in everything you do, but our society preaches indulgence.
Oh well...life is life, you do what you can or have to then ya die XD

Ehh, dude, I'm disappointed.
It's not ok for you to sell off your pills like that. I'm assuming youre getting the pills through some kind of goverment funding, which means from the taxes payers (many of whom are poor, and getting poorer.)
Surely you understand that most pain killers are addictive. People who would buying the pills from you are doing so to get high. Pill poppers rarely use in moderation. Most will likely try other drugs like meth. They say that people rarely use meth just once. If you use it once, you will probably use it again.
I read somewhere 9 out of 10 meth addicts will die users. People on meth cant hold a job, so they tend to steal from people who can. So now not only are basically stealing from the tax payers, but so are your customers so they can pay you (for the stolen merchandise.)
The poor is getting poorer because of greed. Surely you see what I'm getting at here...
What exactly are your medical conditions that are preventing you from working?

Chronic hives, head to toe, my eyes practically swelled shut this morning when i woke up. The joint pain, mental fog I can barely remember anything, I cant concentrate at all, the joint pain, and now the drugs I am on to try and treat whats wrong are causing me to be extremely sick most of the day and cause anxiety attacks about an hour or so after I take em...MobileAudio219 wrote:Ehh, dude, I'm disappointed.

It doesnt matter if youre selling to a nun that suffers from back pain, its still asking to trouble. If she gets pulled over and the prescription isnt in her name shes getting arrested for prossesion of a control substance. I'd be willing to bet she'd rat you out and you'd be in some serious trouble.Mithrandir wrote:

Really though, above all its a moral issue...
I'm not trying to put you down or anything, I just think you have some things twisted.
