LED driving lights

Post by scotts1000rr »

Does anyone know of any small LED driving lights that are reasonable. Here is my problem. I got my youngest a new atv, sometimes it's getting dark before we get back.I put some cheap walmart specials on it and they look and work great but his electrical system cant keep up, it takes about 15 minutes and the batt. is going dead and the lights are getting dim. Any ideas?Could i put LEDs in the ones that are on it?

yes you can, but leds will eat the battery just slower, but will be brighter. solder 4 in series to handle 12 volts.

Are you wanting the LEDs to actually light up the woods, or just be more of a maker light for people can see him?

You won't really get much throwing power out of the LEDs, but you can use them for others will see him when it starts to get darker. They'll put out some light, but not as much as normal bulb.

Look on Ebay for the 5 chip while superflux style LEDs. They are 100ma white LEDs that are about the brightest out there, without needing heatsinks etc. I wouldn't run them at 100ma tho, since they are no names from china. I would run them at about 70ma to be safe.
