From what Ive seen someone else before Mike hacked into the truck. Wether its the OP or someone else, who cares.
That can make a fairly simple install tedious if not about impossible.
At which point who is to point the finger on who did what?
Its hard to take a f'ed up cut to hell mess and make it 100% perfect.
And agreed somethings very odd with this whole story. His post 3 days previous was not sarcastic in the least bit. No way in hell was it meant to be sarcastic.
I think something else is at play here...

I can understand if the truck was hacked into, but he should of realized that when he pulled it apart and made a judgement call "can I fix this in X amount of time?"Ryan from Ohio wrote:From what Ive seen someone else before Mike hacked into the truck. Wether its the OP or someone else, who cares.

I worked on a MR2 once, I thought it would be an easy deck/amp install.
The more I got into it, the more I found what the previous person did. Wires cut everywhere, tape holding stuff together.
Took 2 days to get it all back together, ugh I hated that car.
So if someone got in there before him, who knows what was found as he begun to dig in. CarGodz has been here a long time, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and wait for his side of the story.

Like I said, it could of been a real hack job, I don't know.Chris from Washington wrote:I worked on a MR2 once, I thought it would be an easy deck/amp install.

Seems like once he had it apart he would of seen the mess and made a judgement call on rather he'd be able to finish it in the quoted time or not, then talked it over with the customer???
Theres two sides of the story though, I just hope Mike pops back in and tells his.
Still makes me wonder about the intake for the member on here though, it sounds like there should of been better contact/updates.
I'll give Mike some time to tell his side of the story before I make my final opinion, but something doesnt seem right.

i will honestly charge someone a little more if they have installed their own system prior to me working on the car. even something as simple as running the power cable is generally ****ed up pretty bad by the general public and i wont have anyone saying i worked on a car and not take the precautions to make it safe. also, i dont recall a trailblazer but the plugs that gm uses on a lot of their vehicles makes running wires into the dooors more time consuming than if its just the rubber boot. and as far as an intake goes, its not related to this and has its own thread but i will tell you, i had a customer order one (not through me but through the manufacturer) but he was having it shipped to my shop for installation and after about 3 weeks he got a call that it would be another month before it was available....normally i would ignore this type of post but i feel bad for the guy cause hes apparantely busy and not aware his credibility is being called into question. ive never seen mikes installs but ive never heard anything like this.i dont know the vehicle owner or his "personality" but it could be that mike got into it and told him it would take longer than expected. and honestly sometimes you just have that job where everything goes wrong. the customer has expectations, you have expectations of what your walking into and then your situation becomes worse because of a previous hack job, then the customer is annoyed because you should have known it was hacked.
i would encourage everyone to not even form an opinion unless you're financially involved in this transaction. if you want to get involved in something your not financially involved in and has no real bearing on your own life, i am currently pissed off at burger king and am refusing to go there. i even called their customer service number and it was a recording and they offered me a free whopper...
CARGODZ FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BURGER KING NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The intake IS related. His business as a whole was brought into question, intake = part of his business.smoker wrote:i will honestly charge someone a little more if they have installed their own system prior to me working on the car. even something as simple as running the power cable is generally ****ed up pretty bad by the general public and i wont have anyone saying i worked on a car and not take the precautions to make it safe. also, i dont recall a trailblazer but the plugs that gm uses on a lot of their vehicles makes running wires into the dooors more time consuming than if its just the rubber boot. and as far as an intake goes, its not related to this and has its own thread but i will tell you, i had a customer order one (not through me but through the manufacturer) but he was having it shipped to my shop for installation and after about 3 weeks he got a call that it would be another month before it was available....normally i would ignore this type of post but i feel bad for the guy cause hes apparantely busy and not aware his credibility is being called into question. ive never seen mikes installs but ive never heard anything like this.i dont know the vehicle owner or his "personality" but it could be that mike got into it and told him it would take longer than expected. and honestly sometimes you just have that job where everything goes wrong. the customer has expectations, you have expectations of what your walking into and then your situation becomes worse because of a previous hack job, then the customer is annoyed because you should have known it was hacked.

When he pulled it apart he should realized that the previous install was a hack job. At that point he should of STOPPED doing the install, and explained to the customer that if he continues it will take longer and it would cost a little more.
Nobody would blame him for charging more to fix it!
As for the newer GM's being harder to work on, it's his job to know that. If he's never worked on a trail blazer before he shouldnt of put a bid on the job until he looked over the vehicle first.
I won't stand up for somebody just because they're a member of the board. I can't say for certain what went on with the trailblazer, but I'm 99.9% sure he hasnt kept in good contact with the buyer of the intake if hes posting about it on here.
I've stayed out at the shop until 4:30am finishing jobs up before, it's what you have to do to keep the customer happy.
I had a regular call up a few weeks ago and ask for 3 intakes and 3 extra plaques. I told him it'd be friday. I got sick and the weather got nasty, so I called him up and asked it I could delay our business for a few days, which he said was fine.
It took me an extra 4-5 days, but I called or emailed him every evening keeping him updated. When I delievered them, I gave him the extra plaques for free, and tried knocking off some cash but he refused and paid me in full.
I dont even have a real business, more of a hobby, but by the time I'm ready to start a full time business I'll have good business relationships and the knowledge to run it right.... I'm sorta just pavin my road right now...
Hopefully Mike will shine in and explain whats what. But I can pretty much say he dropped the ball on the intake deal and feel pretty certain of that. If he cant get the intake and its going to be a month or what, then he needs to keep in contact with the customer.
If the other guy posted a kick @ss install that Mike did I'd be like "wow, check out that out, he did a great job" or if the member on here posted about how Mike shipped his intake fast and kept in good contact i'd be like "thats awesome, sounds like he's a great guy."
But thats not what happen. It sounds like he's dropped the ball and I'm sorry if that makes anybody upset that I said that, but thats the way I see it...
