Amp Repair

Post by Ryan from Ohio »

Decided I want to give it a go. The MA Audio 4400 watt monster I had was just to much and to big so its now gone.

I need to start off a bit easier and smaller. So if I dont do something right Im not out $150 in parts...

So I picked up an MTX Thunder 304 tonight. Guy sent me some pics and it didnt look to good, lol.

Heres pics I took. All I can say is holy shit!

Im not sure how long ago it blew, but man it does still stink. I had it in the house for about 2 hours and it stunk the house up.

Its outside on the porch now.

I just cant understand why the fuses didnt blow on this one... Unless he put new fuses in it...

That is probably what he did. cause that kind of heat would have definetly popped the fuses. Or he could have put higher rated fuses than what it called for. Sure fire way to fry something.

Do what McGuyver would do.

1) Bubble Gum
2) Aluminum Foil
3) Hair Gel

Fixed now.
