dent removal techniques

Post by k0rnyfr33k »

I have some dents in my Cavy i want to get rid of (i get hit in the parking lot to much, 4 times since i got my car)... I don't really care if it has a "professional" look to it. I just want to make it look better. Are there any actual Dent removal techniques that really work?

I'm in the same boat. I gotta take mine to a body shop :( I just don't have the stuff to do it myself. They do have them "pop-outs" but if it's a deep dent, it wont work. How bad are they?

take a rubber mallet to the back side of it if you have access, if not, get a pry bar out and try to use the door frame as support to push the dent out. When pushing it, it should actually pop out some.

I knew a guy that had a suction cup like the ones they use at glass shops to carry glass panels around. He drove a Colt that was getting panels pushed in all the time. He would just stick that sucker on and pop them back out like nothing every happened.

sometimes you can take the cans of compressed air, turn it upside down and freeze the spot and then hit it with a heat gun and they pop out

and in some cases if it's just pushed in in the middle of a panel, you can heat up the panel then put some vaseline on a plunger and use to suck the dent out.
