Adire,Fi,RE ect...

Post by High Society »

I didn't want to jack Ryan's thread so I posted a new one. What's the story on these guys.

I thought Adire went bankrupt?

Fi is the new "R E"?

I've been out of it for awhile and wanted some updates.

Like is audiobahn good now? :bigwink:

Whats up with E audio, ect.

I'm just wondering if someone can pull me back to date.

Adire is now built by Fi.... they are variations of their own lines.

And.... Fi is kind of like the new RE. One of the owners formed Fi when US Amps bought out RE. They have some good product out though, they are really liked

.........but nothing compares to the feeling of having a custon Bill Wolf sub, haha

Its to bad that RE had to slap their customers in the face and double prices...

Oh well, we got Fi now.

Adire... The last few things I seen they put out didnt look so hot. The SHivas looked like a cheap ass sub to me... Ugly also

Icic, it's a bummer that Adire had to go the way it did. Their products were top notch. I had a Brahama at one point in time. Wouldn't mind having one now. An old XXX is still me dream sub tho. I've always wanted to get one but never had the cash.

As I recall shivas were one of the very first models Adire made, more geared toward home theater than anything. The last products Adire came out with were the Tumult a 1600RMS beast and the never really released Apocolypse. When adire was having problems they changed their business model to make some OEM stuff to make more money but again if I recall this venture did not pan out the best. Also it is interesting to note how many super sub companies use the Dan Wiggins XBL^2 motor and top plate design now. Sad to see them go. The spoke basket design was another Adire first wasn't it? NEW old ADIRE affiliated designs. http://www.creativesound.ca/

Hey just to say a little thing about Audiobahn here...

I know they make pretty crappy subs... but... I still have my audiobahn 10" sub and believe it or not its been in my buddy's car in a ported enclosure (Designed by myself with some help off of soundstreams ws) and that sucker is still going strong... after 6 years still works and sounds pretty good...

Maybe they just have an irregularly long break in period :)

imm, didn't audiobahn file chapter 11 and go under, too?

Anyway I'm happy with my Q18.
