Given the option I'd rather go to the junkyard in the cold and snow than cold and rain... Rain just makes it a pain to get around and lord forbid you try and jack up a car with one of the trunk jacks they have laying around in the rain.

The yards around here have their cars up pretty high already. They take a car rim and lay it down flat, then they stand another one on top of it and weld the two together. They put one at each end of the rocker panel, pretty good little set-up...

Every now and again you'll get one that you'll have to raise up a little higher (like when you drop the motor and tranny out of a front wheel drive car via subframe.) In those cases, I take the huge a-framed overhead crane/cherry picker/beast and lift the car with that... :D

It's a real nice set-up. I'll get some pictures next time I go!!!!!

Man! Wish we had that kinda set up here... Here they just drop the cars in the mud or sometimes stack them on top of each other... Nothing like climbing for parts.
