s10 parts = sell fantasic!!!!

Post by MobileAudio219 »

Bought a 95 s10 that was wrecked in the front, came with a 98+ front clip and decent looking set of wheels (only 14" or 15") and new tires for $200 bucks..

Tossed a list of parts craigslist last night at around 9pm, so far I've sold...

Rearend $75.00

Seat $30.00

Mirror $10.00

Door $25.00

Headlights/turn signals $25.00

Hood $20.00

Grill $15.00

Motor and tranny are good, and I think my buddy is going to buy them (250.00 for the pair.)

I'm going to work all day sunday pulling all the good parts, and then I'm going to fill it for of scrape that my uncle has laying around (where the truck is now) and haul it in...

Should make a few extra hundred off the truck... If anybody needs any little parts let me know, or big parts if you want to pick them up.... :bigwink:

It's not insainely cheap, but cheap enough to move it pretty fast...

s10's arent really my speciality, mustangs are, but I got the s10 as part of another deal with my uncle...

I'll come out around 400 ahead, and it'll take me a day to strip it and take it to the junk yard...

It's a little jingle for my pocket..

Hopefully this summer/fall it'll be a full time gig, but I have to get the business liences and all that crab taken care of first... So I'm just sorta testing the water... :happy055:

I havent sold any catalytic converters lately, they were down about half of what they were this summer, but I heard they went back down... The cats average about 60 bucks, and go all the way up to a few hundred bucks. :happy055:

Also have a few 97ish sebring parts if anybody needs them... :bigwink:

Yeah, you're kinda forced to sell S-10 parts at relatively decent prices if you want to sell them as S-10s are a dime a dozen and pretty easy to come by in any junk yard.
I don't know about down there, but up here in Ohio you have to be a licensed automotive shop or junkyard to sell used cats now... They changed the law cause to many people were stealing them off cars in parking and used car lots.

It's been a while since I sold any, but I havent heard anything like that down here...

I have a close friend who owns a car dealership/garage, and a recyling business (alum, copper, ect), so I'm not overally concerned about it...

I dont know, parts are selling fast so it doesnt matter to me... :happy055:

Evidently just about anything will sell fast now a days with a decent price... I just posted my tractor with all it's accessories (non-running) and my old Harley (also non running and rusted to hell I might add) on craigslist yesterday morning and both of them gone the same day :D

Selling around here is sometimes iffy... It would seem more people are finally starting to use it in this area :)

this makes me wish i had a garage. i would love to have a place to put a parts car and dismantle it...

I'm not necesarrily good at fixing cars. If its not a bolt on part, I usually let someone else do the work..

But believe me, I can take stuff apart like nobody else, and I like doing it...

A garage makes it alot easier, but I work outside alot..

I work outside alot. I went to pick n pull and yanked out a 5.2 liter out of a jeep g/c last week, it was about 20 degrees and snowing...

Luckly somebody already got the transmission so it came out pretty fast...
