Suggestions on an Amp

Post by Evanjl »

I'm looking of a good 2 channel amp to power two 10" P3SD410 Rockford shallow subs. They are 300w Rms and 4 ohm. Amp will probably be bought off ebay so price accordingly unless something else better is suggested. Price range 150-200 dollars.

Thanks Evan

did some looking and found a 1500w Autotek amp on ebay. Any thoughts on that whether for are against it?

The thing with the Autoteks is the model number (i.e. 1500w) is peak power. I have one (havent hooked it up though), they are good solid looking amps, with what looks to be decent quality materials. I have heard alot of good things about them though. I also have a 2-1000 on its way from Terry (smoker). You can figure they will do about half of the the peak power. The Mean Machine and Super Sport series may do better, but I would say the Street Machine series will do about half of the peak.

If you are careful of what you buy, you can get some decent deals on Ebay. I bought a Punch 401s for about 70.00 and a Punch 500a2 for 75.00. Both of those did me real well.

You can also check the for sale section there are some good deals there too.

Yeah I think that would be a great amp for what you are wanting. The one I have is the Street Machine mono block. I really like the look of the super sport amps. Seems like a good price too. I wouldn't be afraid to try it. that is just my opinion though.

Autoteks for the most part are very solid... I can't say that I recommend buying from ebay though since you're not getting a warranty (just my 2 cents)

^^^^Mike dont you sell Autotek?? I know Terry does, cause I got one coming from him. You want to check with Bill (bwcad1), he is where I got my Autotek Mono amp.

Mike does make a good point you wont get the warranty from Ebay. But then I usually buy used stuff that wouldnt have a warranty anyway, and I also only buy from good sellers with very high feedback scores.

Why not get a good mono block?

Theres no need for a channel, unless I'm missing something here?
