I heard that we may be near the basement as it was said on the news a coule of days ago. We're just under $2.00 on average here. It seems OPEC is holding a meeting tomorrow to see what they can do to keep prices from falling further, but all 13 members need to agree as this article puts it...

Okay, let me get this straight... They think that falling gas prices are actually hurting the global economy... WTF! Are they High on gas fumes or are these companies execs just upset that they won't get as big of a Christmas bonus this year.

While it may have an impact on the exporting companies in other countries (who by the way should already have their pockets lined well enough for the next millennium, in our own country the cheaper gas prices mean that some kids of middle and lower class families will actually get presents this year cuz we don't have to put that extra $20 in the tank every time we fill up.

As I heard it Gas prices went through the roof as the US stock markets crashed and the value of the dollar followed. Crude oil is traded in US dollars, so, as the dollar fell in strength, the prices went up. Then the rest of the world's markets started their decline, and the dollar gained much of it's strength back and gas prices started to decrease.

So, in my eyes, it's as much the fault of Wall Street execs greed and their worldly counterparts as it is Big Oil.

Look at it this way:

15gl x $1.34 = $20.10

15gl x $3.99 = $59.85

So you save $39.75 per 15 gallon, and most people fill up at once a week...

I just hope it doesnt go back up, 20-30 cents is one thing, 2-3 dollars is another...

Here (our average fill up 12 gallons):
Now: 12gl x $1.69 (average) = $20.28
Was: 12gl x $4.09 (highest) = $49.08
And keep in mind that we fill up 3-4 times a week, so with an average of 3.5 times per week that's a $100.80 difference for us... And to think I had to listen to people complain that only filled up once a week or every other week... Yeah, like that didn't get on my nerves.
