After the car gets done I'm going to start looking for a late 90's model dakota, extended cab, 3.9 v6, 5 speed...
Then this summer I'm going to get another mustang, either a 5 liter fox body, or a 5 liter sn95.... I want to find a lower milage one thats in good shape, so I can my money on mods rather than repairs. :D

Gotta love being a car guy our wheels never stop turning(no pun intended).
My wife gets aggravated at me, cause I am always thinking, looking, shopping, for the next project.

Nice move on the monte, 1100 aint bad you'll get a lot of service out of the car if you decide to keep it.

Scoop em and poop em...

In other words, I dont usually buy a car with the intention of keeping it....

Every couple weeks I'll fill up the gas tank and spend the day driving around looking for cars. If they're sitting in somebodies back yard or in somebodies driveway with expired tags, chances are you can buy them for next to nothing.

Some I buy, some I pass on to my buddy who owns a used car lot.... for a small finders fee of course. :happy055:

My uncle friends has a couple of wrecked montes/lumina's that are surpose to have good engines.

I'm going to take a compression gauge and some tools with me...

If I find one that runs really smooth and has lower milage (and passes a compression check, ect) then I'm just going to go this route...

Haha, we all know how I am with cars, I'll probably end up selling it this spring/summer anyways... :sad017:

I have a sickness... :sad017: :mecry: :unwell028 :help:

I went out to my uncles today and helped him cut wood, while taking a break we started talking about the monte, he said "why dont you just swap in that 3.4?"

I totally forgot that we pulled a 3.4 liter out of my cousins grand am because it blew a head gasket (externally), at that time my uncle had a 3.4 out of a wrecked car with super low miles (like 20,000) so we swapped it out rather than fixing it...

The motor sounded really good though. It has about 130,000 miles on it... I'm going to take the heads in and have them checked, and get a new gasket kit and slap that bitch right in....

The 3.4 should be a pretty nice increase in power over the 3.1! :happy048:

Heck ya at will... the 3.1s were always the dog motors... too bad he didn't have a 3.8ltr laying around.
