I don't think they should ban guns all together, but I do think that people who have been convicted of violent crimes do NOT need to have guns...

Theres still alot of racist people out there that don't like Obama because of his scary name or skin color, so while I know you guys arent like that, you have to admit that theres still alot of people who are....

We can discuss this like adults... I hope!

I don't agree with his mortgage buyout, I feel people need to be responsible for their actions. They have to sign for those loans, they know their monthly budget better then anyone.
I agree, alot of these people had it coming. Don't buy more than you can chew. Everyone wants more than they have, but most already have more than they can afford.
If we have a democrats in control of all branches of government, I see some really bad policies being adopted. Biden is out there in the debates saying human are 100% responsible for global warming? Really 100% now?
So how long until we start getting federal mandates on emissions so strict they that basically ruin our economy.
I really do think that humans have a big effect on global warming. On the other hand, I do what I can to get around emissions so I can get my non emission legal mustangs licensed.... Uhh, so yeah, I'm probably not a good person to ask about this one.
Every election year, we see new laws trying to be passed that will raise taxes on fuel, trying to force everyone into mass transit.
Gas prices need to stay down, it's really hurting the lower/middle class people.
If the common man (lower class/middle class) starts struggling, so does the economy.
We have laws saying that 1% state project budget need to go 'art' So we have money being spent putting up statues in prisons or paintings on walls that point towards the woods that people will never see.
I agree with you here.
We have the democrat mayor of Seattle shutting down public streets to cars each weekend last August to encourage 'walking'. yet gas taxes paid for those streets. They even went so far to tow away cars of the people who lived on that street.
I agree with you here also...
Obama's position on gun bans, he is now saying he's against gun bans, but hasn't he voted for it every time? If something like this passes, law abiding citizens have 2 choices. Become a law breaker and keep their guns to protect their families, or turn their guns in and hope the criminals that can care less about gun control don't try and break into their homes.
Both party flip flops...

We can go back and forth all day of what we don't like about each other's candidates. But you're not going to change my mind, and I'm not going to change yours. Just stop trying to bring the color of his skin into the discussion, it has nothing to do with my choice and it shouldn't have anything do with your choice.[/QUOTE]

Exactly...

I just think everyone needs to re-read this thread and decide if they should maybe edit their post....

i agree. do you know that current federal gun laws state that anyone convicted of a violent crime cannot legal purchase a gun? For instance TI a well known rapper is spending 1 year in jail 1 year on house arrest and 1500 hours of community service for trying to purchase a gun when he is a convicted felon?

obama flat out wants to ban all semi automatic guns. period.

So (pole)smoker if what you are looking for is a drinking, pot-smoking, pill-popping, philandering, flip-flopper, then you have your man!
i merely suggested that someone who has done those things and found themselves coming out the other side is going to have a better grip on the real world than those who havent. now....that being said, i called you an idiot because you want to blame everyone for being afraid of the scary black man but it was not mentioned until you mentioned it. so calling into question my sexuality really was a little out of line, but, its ok. most closet homosexuals react this way when they feal inadequate...oh and just in case you didnt know, i own a stereo and custom car shop that while not huge, does about 200k a year in sales and USED to sell kinetic products.

That actually made me lol...

It was just so "matter of fact!"

Terry, just wondering if your business has been effected by the weakening economy? I know a guy who owns a mustang shop and you'd think that his business would be slowing down because of high gas prices and the weakened economy, but he stays fully booked...

I'd like to here from all the small business owners...

I'm going to start a new thread so I dont wh*re up this one... Look for it.

this country was founded by people fleeing religous persecution among other things and we stood on these grounds and fought for our rights and we won.
So... we vote for the party that isn't much different than the islamo facists we're fighting?

Last i checked, republicans/hard core conservatives are typically:
- Anti Science*
- Anti womens rights
- Anti technology*
- Anti gay/etc
- Anti non-stone age
- anti abortion
- anti research*
* if science somehow backs their religious beliefs, then they are all for it. see science that backs the idea that global warming is NOT 100% human caused.

With that said, i am in NO way a Obama or Mccain supporter.

I disagree with alot from the obama/biden camp, as well as on the mccain side. Both of them will probably flush the economy down the crapper. I'm definitely against the dem's anti-gun stance as well as the most of the socialist-style stuff. The republicans have it right - lowering taxes should help. We do need to work on using our own resources, but we also need to encourage the development of alternatives to fossil fuels as those will dry up, contrary to popular belief, prayer isn't going to stop it.

I generally feel that there are more people on the democrat side looking out for us than on the repub, but i may be wrong.

on the trashing of your rights, i hope you realize that it was the Bush administration and their cronies in congress on BOTH sides of the isle. I can't remember the numbers but i'm pretty sure the patriot act was voted on pretty much unanimously on both sides.

In the end, i have not heard either candidate talk about upholding the constitution. My ideal candidate was ron paul - a sane constitutionalist, a great guy, experienced, not corrupt, against big brother, the IRS, and all the other illegal departments the government creates.
