Its not that widespread of a brand, most people on internet forums have heard of them. I dont know how many of us have heard them, I for one haven't, so I cant help you there, but I have read many reviews/words about them and I have heard good things.NorthQuad wrote:Have you heard these subs yourself? I have never heard of the name before.
You could also check out an Alpine Type-R, but should still resolve that Kicker problem, keep us posted on how thats going.
That's one reason why I hate local shops. There are the great ones that are huge on customer service and are very friendly and honest and then there are the other ones who try to sell to the high school kids with $500 burning a hole in their pocket, I've seen this first hand in my town, there is one shop that sells these system to all the young kids (everyone from my school goes there to get their system) and the store has been known to actually steal the system back later.
Not really sure how it happens, I know its not like the manager in a black mask late on a friday night, id assume its just the passing on of info. But its stupid to have to worry about that.

I'd burn the store down. That is horrible, we'd give him some northern justice round here. I will keep you posted on all of this because I'm about to lose my mind over this BS. I have been taken for a ride in the past but I have learned to be a little aggressive when someone is screwing me, my money and my trust.
everyone needs to stop suggesting different brands.... like kiki said... something is majorly wrong.. a cvr and a kx600.1 should wang without problems.. i have put 600-1000 watts before on a cvr without popping them something isn't set right.. hmmm lots of excurision but no bass??? what are your crossovers set at by chance??

instead of buying more stuff to have more problems with, let's try to fix what you've got already.. then once it's working, we'll see if it's what you want to keep.
If you're getting a lot of movement from the sub but not hearing anything I have a few more questions:
does it make any difference with the windows opened or closed in the truck?
did you say this box is sealed or ported?
you said you've turned down the gain on the amp, but what is the LPF frequency set to on both your amplifier and your head unit? What slope or Q factor if it's variable?
Are you sure the amp is connected via RCA to the sub-out of the head unit and not a set of the full range RCA outs? (seen it happen)
I'm thinking this is one of two things right now. a cabin pressurization issue, which is doubtful if you had other subs that worked in the same truck, or a matter of getting the right frequencies to the sub. someone may have mis-set the head unit or amp crossovers so the sub is playing too high of a frequency and it's moving but you're not getting bass. I could have this working in about ten minutes if I had it in front of me but this takes longer doing things across the distance of a few states.

ya but he still has to do something about that guy who sold it to him. ya i would try kiki's suggestions and if its just flipping the switch from fullrange i would flip and if it sounds awsome go back to the dealer and flip it back let him listen to the crappy way and if he likes its switch it back and ask him what in the hell he thinks about this.
