Or hell the whole car.
I don't care if its a SQ show car, or just a daily driver.. The difference in SQ well justifies the price, especially when your talking about that type of money.
Hell let any of those guys here a dampened car with the exact same stereo as theirs, and I guarantee they will want theirs dampened too.
You have to take the time to install a full car's worth of Dynamat. That can take two days in itself. It isn't cost effective if the customer wants a custom system in their car in one day.

I do know that Smokes hearse was dampened, but it wasn't a full car's worth.

Also, yes JBL and Alpine have a hand in the cookie jar. JL Audio did too, but as I understand it, When Will picked up JBL, the Harmon corp wanted to be featured as well..Will listened, and then struck up a meeting between Speed/Harmon/UA. The rest is what we get to see each day.

You have to understand something Ryan, Terry's hearing is bad, mainly due to that SPL thingie he likes...I think. Could be all that porn too..clouding the head and droning out the sound.

lol...

Could be his wife screaming in his ears also. We all know Terry likes em young and full of energy :)

could be speakers, etc. I heard it plainly at home with my good headphones. I can still hear it at work on my cheaper headphones too.

I like the install from what we can see its very clean and classy. I would of done something with that trunk lid regardless. To vest the amount of money to flip it open and bam, theres the sheet metal... no way :)

Outside that I like it. I think the Gucci fabric is a bit silly, but im not into flash.

I would tend to agree with you. It does look good and if I installed it, no matter the time it takes, I would have at least put Dynamat on the trunk lid and the doors that have speakers in them. At the very least.

Don't get me wrong, the car looks sharp. But they had 75% of the interior in order to redo the roof. So whats one day of dampening?

I think terry nailed it in one of his previous post. They do a great all around job with their cars. But their stereos (except for the one biggs had his hand in) seem to all be so so. Considering these guys are looked at as some of the best, I would hope that they take that to heart, and truly go the extra mile.

At the same time though, how many of those B-ball stars and other athletes, take the time to learn the equipment and demo it in stores, and actually know what it is going to sound like.

I am sure some do but, given the profile of these people I'd say most just come in and say," hey guys, throw me in something that sounds good."
They are probably not gonna know the difference that even one full layer on the whole would make.

I agree with everyone else though, to do the work they did on the car and then just a naked bare metal trunk lid was kinda an eye sore. At least throw up a liner or something.

Well as many of you know... I gotts no sound card so I could tell ya if there was rattle or not, but the overall aesthetics were nice... And you also have to realize that some people actually want trunk rattle... I've actually done some installs in the past where people think the more the car rattles the more impressive the system must be (yeah I know, stupid), but ya give'm what they want.
