My wife wants an older truck
I'm just wondering how much of the bodywork I can do

I don't have body tools but I've always wanted to learn how to bondo and stuff like that.

This isn't going to be like a die-hard 100% authentic restore its just going to be something that I can tinker with and have fun with.

Edit:
OH Sidenote: I only get it on with Car Gods ;) lol hahahahahaha ...hopefully the Gods will help me get a good car lol haha

that or I can sacrifice Mobile ..that may work too

If you're looking for an older P/U then look into the late 60s chevy's or early model Ford F100... There are still quite a few floating around that are purty solid and just need some drivetrain work. If you look hard enough you can come across some pretty good deals on them and the beauty part is that you don't have to do tons of bodywork for rust since the aftermarket is full of restoration parts for them ;)
Another nice thing about them oldy but goodies is that you can throw just about anything you want under the hood... There's a guy up here with an older F100 with a 5.7ltr Corvette motor up under the hood :D

Kids Kids, don't make me come back there...
Anyways, Depending on the vehicle is the dependancy of cost.

Initially I'm hoping around 2,000 dollars for the vehicle itself (if 300 then w00t) but realistically I'm not going to want to redo every tiny little thing probally so I'll spend a lil more in the beginning. Then after that probally another 3,000.

Total investment 5k with me doing all labor.
I figure over the course of two years this really shouldn't be a problem. Like I said though if the car is worth it I'll easily invest more. Just depends really.

I have to purchase though a new tool-box I've doubeled the weight limit in each of the drawers of the one I currently own and Snap-On is getting pissy about replacing my sliders. I also have to purchase a truck for a daily driver nothing super fancy since I still have the 88 acura just want a back-up vehicle.

So roughly 6,000 dollars is right there...4k being tool-box (hopefully can find a damn good deal online and knock that down some) and 2k for a truck.

I always have a little extra cash for side project just in case I find a really good deal thats hard to pass up
