E Bay, SCREW YOU!

Post by Ryan from Ohio »

I read today online there was some new big changes going on at E Bay.

http://pages.ebay.com/sell/August2008Up ... index.html

See for yourself.

E bay = Auction nazi's

You MUST take Pay Pal and pretty much ONLY PAY PAL!

You can only charge X amount for shipping!

hey we lowered the insertion fee but jacked up the final value fee to take more of your money! Oh and when your buyers uses Pay Pal because they have to, were taking more there too!!!

All I can say is **** YOU E BAY!

I couldn't agree more. Ebay has been going to crap over the last couple of years. WAY too many scammers, including ebay themselves.

Ebay is trying to protect the buyer and seller by using paypal.
The fee for paypal is nominal and the fact that paypal has been running decently over the last few years seems ok with me. I'm not that cool with the mandatory setting but maybe power sellers will be able to get around it.

I'm ok with the S&H thing, is it like 2lb things = 5 dollars and 10 lb things = 5 dollars
or just 2 lbs = 2 dollars 5 lbs = 5 dollars?

see what I mean?

Well E Bay owns Pay Pal.

So they are requiring more fees to sell, then make you buy/pay with pay Pal and they can jack that rate up to. Which WILL happen a few months after these policies go into effect, mark my words.

Its a big pile of BS is all it is.

I cant see how it makes it easier for buyers? Not all buyers have credit cards. Not everyone with a credit card wants to use it... So you just lost some buyers right there E Bay. FOr well over my first year back on E Bay I didnt have a credit card. I dont anymore either...

Well we all know that I can't stand ebay in the first place and this isn't pushing me to use their auction any more so...
I do like Paypal (even if it is the same company owned), but I also have a business account with them that up until now has run rather smoothly.

So dont use it. no one is twisting your arm, if they raise the price of butt lube and you don't like it you stop buying it right? same with this.

They did raise the price?

dammit!

Well thats the basic plan Bill. I just cant comprehend why they keep making these asinine changes outside than to make more money at the sellers expense.

i have butt lube for cheap.....as well as all other related items..

looks like they want to cut down on people selling something for 99 cents with 200 dollars shipping.......they dont collect a fee on the shipping. but i hate them anyway. paypal always is in favor of the buyer anyway. they think that as a seller the buyer cant rip you off. bullshit, its been done to me.

Yes it happens all the time.

Buyers get something, complain and hang the feedback out... Want stuff for free or close to it or they neg ya.

Some sellers were bullying buyers though, but not most. Some of the outrageous shipping things I can understand and sympathize with.

I just bought some hobby stuff from Hong Kong. Guy charged me like $40 for shipping and only 10 for the items... in other auctions the items are more, shipping less. Basically he knows what hes going to get per item.

This could possibly hose the guys who sell wheels and tires on Ebay...they charge 600 for the set then 200 for shipping...interesting.

I barely ever use Ebay for anything. Pay Pal on the other hand is essential. In fact, I am currently working with Jeremy to buy a 7200 MkII from him. Woot!
