I guess I will setup a Bang for the Buck section. My reasoning with the asterisk was to keep all the good brands together, but make it known that these other brands aren't at the same level.

Not so debatable when you're refering to lower end equipment that could be recommended as stable for the price you pay... Sure some of the higher end equipment could be rated as a bang for the buck if you find it on ebay... but I think the list needs to stay on coarse of what you'd expect to pay at a retailer for the bang for the buck catagory.

Another one that I believe should probably be lower would be MA Audio... from "Good" to "Questionable" as I've seen my fair share of problems with MA over the last couple years in both amps and subs... the amps more than the subs, as they really aren't efficient at all and more of power hungry hogs that will drop into protect mode way to easy... Many of their amps are still the same models for over the last few years, but seems to me are being built cheaper and not as reliable as the ones 5-10 years ago.

well instead of bang for the buck maybe it should be the budget section. just let it be known these are not the recomended way to go but on a budget they are proven or known to hold up.

That's why I thought right under "Good" and above "Questionable" would be a good place for it... "Budget" or maybe even "Quality Budget" or "Bang on a Budget" might be more descriptive so people don't get the wrong idea about the catagory.

Works for me ;)
This way it explains the classification of the catagory a lil better.

it isn't a "deal" if it fails in under a year.
remember that.

this is why I still hate Sony, and probably always will.
their stuff looks neat, and has nice features, and still tends to fail miserably.
a lot like kenwood.

your right, thats why i have not had a sony warranty claim. ever. you can hate them but hate them based on facts or if its not gonna be facts hate them because you hate them for no reason other than you dont like they font they use in the name, but, they are the only brand i have where i have never had a returned piece. well them and kicker and maybe one other but im not on trial and its early so forgive me if i leave on out.

You know your probably right about sony terry, but the fact is they are not a high quality piece. Everything else, other than car audio, that sony makes is good product, especially laptops.

However, because of the low sound quality and cheesy features/looks of the sony, they are at the bottom of the list for guys like me. What I never considered about sony was what you mentioned, the failure rate. I haven't heard of anyone I know having a sony fail. I hear complaints about them, but no failures.
Another thing is the new, correct me on the name, is it sacd technology? Sony has the market on this, maybe they will have a high end line once again.
