I think we should make an individual guide summing up recommended system design
I.E.: stuff to choose for value, stuff to choose for no holds barred performance. Give a good enough variety from members of the forum that it doesn't look like something biased to our own experiences/preferences.
Basically an idiot-proof (don't mean for that to sound harsh) way of getting a good/great quality system. You would, however, have to stick with solid, proven market performers and not the "boner of the month" kind of products.
It'd be a good way of narrowing down to specifics instead of "I know brand "x" makes garbage amplifiers, but so and so said their speakers are pretty good for the money" which may be the case, but really complicates the good, bad and ugly format.

Bwcad1 wrote:that could take forever and your not letting people know what you think of brands your saying this is what you should buy and we dont care if your thinking about any other brand.
Is this not essentially what people do in all the "is "x" product good?" threads anyway?? We offer what we know is proven to work, basically?
so we reccomend 5 sets of equipment and call it done? not the way to go. i just dont think thats such a good idea. letting people decide and do some research is the best way to go. you basically bipassing the whole knowledge phase and saying here buy this you will be good. when i believe these people should take the time do the research and make an informed decision. the old list and the way its setup is fine it just needs to be updated. not thrown away for a if you want this buy this list.
can this sub be compared with any of the ones stated above?

X2. I think the best way to buy equipment is to look at the numbers and do research first, and then ask "what should I go with". With Car Audio you can't just jump in and buy the first thing that catches your eye.
I liked the old list also, there is alot of knowledge there.
