Where to buy digitally remastered CDs

Post by Robert Wollenberg »

I've read quite a bit about how today's CD recordings are lacking heavily in dynamic range. It seems reducing the dynamic range and making the CD seem "louder," is a selling tactic. Each companies CDs are louder then the next.

Anyway, I'd like to believe that digitally remastered discs are less compressed then your run of the mill CDs. Hopefully I can find out more about that throughout the day.

So the question is, does anybody have a good source for high quality CDs? A website that maybe categorises by digitally remastered or something to that effect. Amazon doesn't do it and if you throw remastered into it's search function, it actually eliminates many discs that are in fact remastered.

because, like Betamax, Sony owns the rights, and thus it's Sony or nothing.

Look at MFSL (Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab) Original Masters Gold plated CDs.
