My sub is falling apart

Post by g-man »

i have 2 10'' aa assassins and on one of them the cone in the middle is becoming loose. I took the sub out and when i blow air though the hole at the base of the magnet it comes out through the cone in the front.
Is there any material i can use to glue it back together and close the gaps?

i can recone that sub if you want. probably about 95 bucks -110 each. you can use resin on the cone a very light coat however it will change the properties of your sub quite a bit.

Sounds like just the dust cap? Small round thing?

If so just pry it up a tad, put a few drops of liquid super glue under it and press down firmly.

its the dustcap. already tried silicone, was good for a day or two then it started losing air again. The subs are about one and a halh year old...well i live in cyprus...40-45 degrees celcious in the summer here (if that has to do aaanything with it) xp

Superglue would be better suited to fixing the dustcap than silicone... and make sure it has a chance to warm up inside first.
