I think my case has a 450 or so watt power supply that came with it... Ive been using it for like 5 years now with no issue.
450 watts is nothing these days. And the power supplies that come with computer cases are crap 99% of the time. I usually buy cases without powersupplies on purpose. I honestly don't think that powersupply will be enough to suit your computer

windows xp recognizes up to 3.5ish GB.. not 2.

i've got 2 2gb sticks in this computer, and it recognizes 3.5 of it. not a total loss.

and to justify - i use vmware and soon dynamips (router virtualization).

here...

iiyou can get it to utilize all 4 gigs 1 gig for the kernel and the rest for apps
by putting the /3GB switch into the boot.ini

server 2003 is cool
i have the standard edition at home on my media server can only use 16 gigs of ram on that though

x64 is based on it vista was too originallythen they ruined it but just like xp in a few years itll be cool just like it took xp a while to catch up with win98

The kernel doesn't use that much itself anyway. I have 2gb and with all my apps running, I don't use 350mb total. So putting more towards programs would help, especially if you run 3d graphics programs. You should try that, Darth, and see what happens.

Ok,

I bought the CPU this last week, the 6400+ Black Edition. Got it used on E bay for a decent price seeming New Egg lowered the price then raised it back up...

Ordered a power supply today. Took the recommendation and thought about it. I got it for $20 after rebate. Normally $70

Im only going to run 2 hard drives, 1 DVD burner, 1 dvd drive and 1 vid car and multiple fans.
