Buring to DVD

Post by Ryan from Ohio »

Ok...

I have a DVD burner, I have a version of Nero (not sure WTF it is), I have a few AVI movie files.

It wont allow me to burn the AVI to DVD to play as a movie. Tells me I need to upgrade, which Im not going to do. I tried other avenues ;) with no luck to remedy that issue.

So Im looking for another program to burn with.

Options?

What you need to do is find out what format it is and convert it into a burnable format. Avi is probably DivX. I think you can burn DivX to DVD using the DivX software.

Evidently my new old video card came with a pack of programs, one is a movie maker.

So i figured, what the hell.

Seems to be working!

Dropped the AVI file in, it splits itself up into segments. Its been compiling then will be burning.

Will report back.

dvd lab pro works good especially if you want to put multiple movies on a disc and have nice menus but not all players can play vcd format movies on a dvd. luckily it can covert AVIs to dvd format also. xilisoft makes a pretty good video converter can convert any format to what ever format you want autogk is good for ripping and storing

you may want to check and see if your dvd player can play AVIs

The Program I have is InterVideo, its from like 2003.

It worked! Just is SLOW. Takes about 1 1/2 hours to take a 730 MB file into a DVD.
