amp or speakers?

heres the prob.. my parents are going to give me $300 for christmas to get an amp or speakers,, the question is do i buy an amp or speakers then at income tax time ill get about $ 800 to spend.. so should i buy $300 worth of speaker or speakers and wait and spend more for an amp or buy a $300 amp and spend more on speakers later? if speakers what would be good for around $300 and if amp what would be good for 300

save the 300 until tax time. Then take the 1100 and spend it all on an amp and speakers

Amp for your front stage and speakers at tax time. That VR3 is a piece of crap :)

If you explain to your folks that you want to save the $300 until tax time and add to it so you can buy better equipment that's more stable, they may actually look at it different than what you think.

Personally I would use that $300 on or towards a set of NICE front speakers. Take that Kicker amp and driver them with that.

Then take the $800ish you got coming and buy an amp to power the Audiobarf's. Or better yet, sell them to one of your friends, take all that money (Barf money and the $800) and start over with a quality sub and a proper amp.

You will be far ahead if you head this advice.

lets say i got new wall and door speakers and ran them off the kicker and crossover. and got a new amp what kinda amp would i need and would it be better to run one or both subs?

Ok dude, here is what you need to do. Sell off everything you have except the kicker amp. Take that money and by a set of comps for the front.

Have it installed.

Wait till your tax money comes in.

Buy a new single sub, and an amp thats big enough to push it.

Have someone build you a CUSTOM box to match the sub.

Have it installed.

Enjoy.......................

there you go. These guys won't stear you wrong. If you don't do it now, you'll do it later and it will cost you more money because of what you spent this time around.
