Ok, so maybe I have a problem (part 2)

Ok, so I decided not to trade the blazer for the grand am.

Instead I found a wrecked 95 blazer, going to pull the tranny out of it and put it in my other 95.

Now I bought the wrecked one sight unseen, the guy wanted 400 bucks, called him and talked him down to 300 dollars, grabbed the trailer and went and picked it up. Turns out it has new tires, NICE interior, good body other than needing a bit of front end repair, and it runs good with clear title. So I make a few calls and found all the body parts I need for 200 bucks, and they are the same color...

Hmmm, so I'm go ahead and pull the motor and tranny out of it, use the tranny for my other 95, keep the motor in the garage for parts. I'm going to go ahead and buy the front clip now, then this spring find a 350 (possible lt1) and convert it from 4wd to AWD....

And by the time you get done you probably wont have any more in it then what it would cost to go buy one mint.

Exactly, have about 500 bucks with the new front clip, which will make the body and interior mint.

Then, I'll scope u pull it for the LT1 (which I see pretty common) and get the transmission and AWD transfer case (will to beef it all up) out of a bravada or astro van.

I can get the motor, transmission and transfer case for about 300 bucks from u pull it (I can get the cores from my uncle). Pull the engine apart, do a mainly stock rebuild (maybe do a little p&p work, maybe small cam), leave the transmission mostly stock (replace the seals and pan gasket, fluid & filter, shift kit), still have to check on the transfer case, it's probably the weak point. The stock corvette radiators are surpose to work well with v8 swaps, ten get some decent electric fans...

I say I'll have around 3 grand into after the v8 swap, including purchase price of the truck and front clip... But oh boy would it be fun. :happy055:

Oh well, theres a guy selling a 97 blazer, 4dr, 4wd for 550.00 obo. Its surpose to be in real good shape other than the motor. But if its the block I think the 95 is the same, otherwise the heads and everything up is different.

Should be able to talk the guy down to around 400. Local yard has a low milage motor I can listen too for 400. Throw on a new gasket set, timing chain & water pump (around 200 bucks) pay my uncle 200 to switch the motor, then sell it for around 3,000-3,500... Which makes for a profit of between 1,800-2300...

Sorta like flipping house... Just be smart where you spend your money... Gasket sets, timing chains, water pumps are cheap, and people like to hear about new parts.... :happy055:

Yeah, I outta start a new tv show "flip that car" but you know, dont acutally flip it, well flip it, but not like a *crash* flip, I mean sometimes a flip will "crash", the stock market crashes, its not really a crash -crash, I mean when you lose money on it, will I dont mean LOSE money on it, its not like standing on the hood and being all like *oh, I just had a 20, where did it go*, I mean that you didnt make money on it, no I'm not talking about counterfieting money on the hood of a car......
