But justifying a hate crime by simply putting a noose in a tree?

I fully understand that takes black people back a few hundred years to when people would publicly lynch. Thats 200 years ago. Before that, it happened to plenty of other people who werent black. So calling it a hate crime is racist in itself, IMO.

Not looking at what color did what, punishment needs to come. It needs to be levied against who did what.

If the 6 white kids gave the black kid a black eye, they need a mild punishment.

If the 6 black kids beat the white kid to a bloody pulp, they need some real punishment.

(Which is what I assume is the case, not certain). Vice versa also.

If you are an asshole, you need to get dealt with, period. No matter who you are.

22 years and an attempted murder charge, thats the most bull shit i've ever heard in my life.

thats definitely not fitting of the crime, specially considering the idiot that they beat was out partying the night it happened.

My question is: What ever happened to a fair fight? This is a completely Nonracial question, cause it happens amongst all colors and creeds even within themselves.
IMO in the last 20-30 years it would seem that we had actually moved backwards as a society... when I was in school a fight was 1 on 1 and when it was over, it was Over... Everyone has to be tougher than everyone else now "screw that!".
Here's a scenerio for the way it used to be: Tom beats George in a fight, George beats Billy in a fight, Billy beats Tom in a fight... Who's tougher? That's right nobody... It's just the way it was... but now a days people can't settle for that...
You wanna prove something to me... Prove that your smarter than I am!

actually i found a way to have a fair fight... U literally beat the crap outta someone very fast b4 the other guys get to you... This sends the message to the other guys that they dont wanna mess with you... Best way... break the first kids nose.

Nothing sends other guys running than when they see a stream of blood coming from their buddies face... or even better one hit and they stay down...

Some say thats not how fights go down, but as far as the few but very successful times i have gotten into them, I have won all 4 of them and each one i never came out of it with more than a bruise on the face and the other kid had to take a trip to the hospital or took a nap....

Fighting is stupid and i dont like to do it at all... ppl just need to use intellectual conversation in order to settle differences... if you cant use your words than really all you are proving is that u are retarded.

In my area it's actually completley different then all of your impressions/opinions/areas. sure there are racists who are white, but i think that the black people in my community are my racist. from my experiences, IN MY area, ive found that the black people are more ignorant and stubborn then the white people. im not racist i dont think, two of my best friends are black and i find myself hating / disliking white people more then black ppl, at least in my recent experiences. sadly i think racism will always play a role in our lives since there will always be uneducated stubborn people who think that their fate is determined by the colo of their skin. black, white, red, yellow, orange - anybody can become somebody, its just the people who dont that look for excuses as to why they didnt.. i.e. racism

i think that if 6 white kids had beaten one black kid the issue wouldve become larger because the majority of black people would play the 'race card' and seek severe penalties for the white kids. i dont know if his sentencing was just, i never met him or talked to him, so i cant tell you if the shoes fits the crime

Oh i know what you are talking about... Philly is a mean place especially if you go the wrong way ... It really has to do with who is the minority in that area... IN a predominantly black neighborhood where the minority is white who do u think is going to be looked down on and prejudged? It is always an environmental reason behind things.
