Changing tracks making sound

I have a problem that I can't seem to fix. Whenever I manually change tracks on my CD, it auto changes the tracks, or I turn the sound system off, it sends a signal to my speakers to make a single thump. I found out if I turn my bass almost off the sound is very quiet, but I like to keep my bass pretty high and this makes for a very loud and possibly damaging to my speakers thump. I am running a Sony Explode head unit with a Hifonics Titan 1600w amp and two 12" Alpine Type R subs. I had a Hifonics Brutus 1600w amp before and never heard this sound, but because I mounted it on top of my speaker box and the speakers vibrate the whole car so much it fried (twice actually, had it repaired once but replaced it this time.) The new amp is mounted on my floorboard in the back seat. So if anyone knows the reason for this thump any help would be appreciated.

It's just that the amp doesn't have the feature that eliminates the turn on/off thump.

There isn't much you can really do other than change the amp or possibly the head unit.


I know it sounds bad, but it's not as bad as it sounds (for the subs).

thats incorrect almost all maxxsonics amps have soft turn on. however they also use this as a diagnostic tool. a lot of times you will get the turn on thump from an insufficient ground.

I didn't look it up. But that is what I assume when that stuff happens. It could be malfunctioning, too.

i had a pioneer not too long ago and when i would change songs and turn it on and off, mine also made my subs jump...its mainly in ur ground, but ur output bein messed up dont help either..last week i baught a new kenwood kdc-mp7028 and after i had hooked it up my subs no longer jumped...i had also fixed my ground problem..

Ya, we relocated this amp and I think we (me and my dad) messed up the ground, I am going to try and fix it next weekend when I go home from college. Thanks for the help.
