Experimented some more with the tweeters. First tried them in the kick panels, but I felt that it messed up my soundstage a little too much (sounded like everything was coming from below me). Tried on the A-Pillar at different angles but again, a little too harsh for me. I tried equalization but I c...

Well, I finally installed the speakers in my vehicle. Instead of using the McIntosh MC4000M amplifier, I decided to go with the Zapco Reference 650.6 for now since that was all I needed at the moment. It's currently running in three channel mode (150watt x 2 for front stage, 350watt x 1 for a future...

Thanks for clarifying it up--I didn't know that it took twice as much power to get a 3db increase. If that is true though, that really makes the speaker RMS wattage very unimportant doesn't it, since in that theory, they'll all be similar in loudness, but different in how they sound (based on what t...

Thanks for letting me know--I'm familiar with crossovers and hold they work, but building in building one, I'm a bit hesitant. Are there any other pre-packaged speakers anyone can recommend? I currently have a set of Focal Utopia 165W, but I would love to try something else--that way, I'll be able t...

I have considered them but I'm not sure exactly if they would give me the sound I want. Since I can't audition any of these speakers manufacturers anywhere, it's really hard to choose what would be an optimal set without feedback from people who have used their products. Are those your two preferred...

Building a new system--high-end speaker recommendations?
A lot of you may have read my other post about amplifiers, and I would thank everyone that responded. On a separate note, that made me rethink the speakers I am going to use for my current my car. My old vehicle has a set of Focal Utopia's (7" Woofer, TN51 Tweeter) and I liked the way it sounde...
