yea i was trying to find one of those cables... and i def do have the i-BUS connector on mine because it is SAT ready... but i just got a FM transmitter of E-gay and if it works then fine if it sounds like shit then ill get that cable... I figured for $15 it cant be that bad... the only thing im worried about is if its battery operated... Hopefully it operates off of Cig lighter adaptor. If not im going to be a bit pissy cause i know that ill have to be changing in batteries every time i use it... Then again for $15 i could always open it up and wire my own cig lighter to the positive and negative leads... heheh

if it has the i-bus aux in, my local shop had a cable for 25 bucks that i just installed in a friends deh3800 which obviously plugged into the bottom of the i-pod, not the headphone jack, into the i-bus, and a power and a ground coming off to wire it to a power source to charge the i-pod. Sounds great, and even though you can't control the i-pod from the hu (which i think is only playlists, and a few others), it saves you from the 70-80 $ price tag on the pioneer adapter.

yes i am able to turn the volume up or down with the iPod... Yes im runnnign my front stage off the HU pre-amp... Nope nothing in the way of volume control form the HU... Yes my 6500 is Sat Ready... Im just thinking maybe ill get the iTrip cause its less expensive...

just buy the pioneer ipod piece instead of the universal aux input

Ohhh, you're running your front stage off the HU amp?

Not necessarily. There are plenty of electronics (not just car audio is what I mean) out there that have circuitry that bypasses the internal amp thus giving you a fixed input/output.

I don't see how it would stay one volume level. Turning up the volume knob on the HU should still boost output voltage, regardless of input. Does the volume level change when you change the volume on your iPod?

OK after doin some more digging on the PAC iPAC-AFT it doesn't look like it would work either since the Pioneer head units have to be satellite ready and I don't believe your 6500 is.

lol I just assume people are like me and don't read the manual :D

Do i still have to controll the iPod with the actualy device or can i use say the remote controller to switch between tracks?
