Help with Aux out... im stumped...
My old reliable DEH- P6500 Pioneer is a great unit and have had it for a bit more than 5 years now... but something that i wanted to do was to play my Ipod through the Aux feature...
No dice apparently... I pluged in RCA's and a converter to 8mm plug and i only get one volume level which is really quiet... Only plays through the front speakers and will not address the amp for my subs at all.... Basically i feel like im listening to a radio from the 1950's.... Is there some special setting that i am supposed to have for the Aux to work appropriately.... I have no volume control so volume 1 sounds like 53 and nothing i touch in the HU changes that.
My guess is that the Ipod is not providing enough voltage output to the Headunit and will not supply the signal appropriately....
Any ideas would be helpful...
Im almost ready to just go out and buy an iTrip instead... But if u can think of something let me know.

Well I just proofed the manual and didn't find anything in there for ya...
I know PAC makes an iPod interface that works with the Pioneers called the iPAC-AFT that you can use their ic-RCA plug with for aux input.

OK after doin some more digging on the PAC iPAC-AFT it doesn't look like it would work either since the Pioneer head units have to be satellite ready and I don't believe your 6500 is.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of electronics (not just car audio is what I mean) out there that have circuitry that bypasses the internal amp thus giving you a fixed input/output.solacedagony wrote:I don't see how it would stay one volume level. Turning up the volume knob on the HU should still boost output voltage, regardless of input. Does the volume level change when you change the volume on your iPod?
