silicone w3ont hold up to a gas leak, they actually make a product available at any parts store that is spesifically for gas tanks, ive used it on old bike tanks and it works great, it dries rock hard

Although I don't agree with that as safety should be your first thought and not hit the tank at all... but if you do happen to pop a hole in the tank the proper way to seal it cheap would be to use a screw, but make sure that you put some silicone around the screw to seal it tight...

I had to do this to a customer's car once after He tryed drilling a hole in the trunk himself :p

most importantly WATCH FOR YOUR GAS TANK. i'm sure mine got hit by ground screws (very small ones at that) multiple times.that was when the shop did it though.

yea but make sure the metal is clean and make sure it bites HARD!!!!!

by hartman » Tue May 15, 2007 4:44 pm

yup ok so could i just use a metal screw and a washer?

by Darthness » Tue May 15, 2007 4:26 pm

hey you posted this on sixth sphere too :)

by smoker » Tue May 15, 2007 4:19 pm

yea thats a horrible place for a ground, ground the amp to the trunk floor by sanding the paint away and using either a pilot hole and really good screw or by using a nut and bolt

i have it grounded to the rear speaker deck would this affect anything? the grounds under the hood are all tight.
