...I understand that...and understood that when I read it...

I dunno, sometimes I just overcomplicate things, I guess I just didn't take for granted that when it said impedance-4ohms that I was to assume that meant each sub (since it is speaking of the package)
2 SVC 8 Ohm subs would equal a 4 ohm load, or, if that is a 2 channel amp (each sub gets a channel) and they are DVC 8 ohm subs, that would present a 4ohm load to each channel...

Like I said, sometimes I over-complicate things...o well! let's move on!

I know DVC 4 Ohm is 2 ohm...but that description just isn't clear at all.
The description is perfectly clear and will be to you too once you've been doin this for a while.
If you have 2) single 4 ohm voice coils and wire them in parallel, then it's the same as having 1) 4 ohm Dual voice sub wired parallel = 2 ohm load...
If you had 2) 4 ohm Dual Voice coil subs wired in parallel it would equal a 1ohm load. :)
JL has a pretty good tutorial for ya on wiring up subs.... you can find it here: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=145

but it just says "impedance-4 ohms"

I know DVC 4 Ohm is 2 ohm...but that description just isn't clear at all...o well, no big deal.

2 single 4ohm voice coils wired in parallel would be a 2 ohm load not a 4 ohm load.

I kinda figured you'd figure out somethin for him Terry :) ... That system will definately do the job.

problem solved, fusion nvsw12 and an ssl 1500 watt monoblock amp, kick ass sub, solid amp, and im giving him a sealed box i have that i built a while back that is put together like a brick shithouse, ......its gonna pound. my favorite high end sub and my favorite middle of the road amplifier.....

I did, it doesn't say DVC on the subs, and it says 4 ohm Impedance...so wouldn't that be 160W?
