like you said, you can feel 29Hz. if you were deaf, you'd still feal it.. but it wouldn't be defined, techincally, as "sound."

As for "what was it then?" it was faulty cable shielding most likely, and even more likely, run near an ignition wire, fuel pump wire, etc.

\the definition of sound is the brain's interpretation of pressure on the tympanic membrane. remove the ears from the equation, and you have no sound.
Thus, if a tree falls in the forest, and nobody is there to hear it, it doesn't make a sound.
^^
cant exactly say that because i sure can "feel" 29hz at 150. i need to test the buick and see what it does at 20hz.

^what about all the squirrels :p lol

i think i got it now and im gonna have to side with glass on this one.....its early and i havent been drinking but if i understand glass correctly this is what happened....

some guy named clark (possibly clark griswald) cut down a tree in the forest and it landed on your car....since you werent there to see it and clark had his ears removed there was no noise. since there was no noise what you heard was not noise because you can hear noise and since you heard something that was quite obiously not noise you must not have heard it...see? its that simple

ok then explain to me what it was?

if you can't hear it, it isn't noise :)
