I agree, all flash sites really get annoying for the user. If they refresh their browser, it takes them right back to the beginning. Or if they hit the back button it doesn't take them 'back' a page. It will take them back to where ever they were before they came to your site.

I would stick with a basic HTML page, there are templates out there for those too.

grrrrr

And I really liked that template.

Ok I have another Template. Its cool, and purple :surprised

But where you are to edit it and put your company name, well its a graphic. SO there is NO WAY to edit it and make it look good. I messed with it for 15-30 minutes and deleted it...

:argh

Im tired of the crappy website, I want something half assed cool... and easy on the eyes...

OK,

See in your txt file where you have Custom Box Engineering & Fabrication:

Get rid of the & symbol, I bet that's a reserved symbol in the flash script, and it's seeing that and trying to do something with it. I got rid of it, and it started working.

by Chris from Washington » Mon Jul 03, 2006 3:10 pm

oh wait, I see on the services link.

by Chris from Washington » Mon Jul 03, 2006 3:09 pm

I'm looking at your first link, and I see the scroll bars? right there in the center right? Or was there another page, it wasn't working?

by Ryan from Ohio » Mon Jul 03, 2006 2:59 pm

William tried helping me. I see what he is saying, but the problem still persists.

I just dont understand why that scroll box disapears? I dont see any special coding to keep it there, call it up, etc.

Heres the location to what I got:

http://www.caraudiocentral.net/ryan/bas ... index.html

Heres one to the original template:

http://www.caraudiocentral.net/ryan/template/index.html

And Chris since you got FTP and server access you can get the files :)

This is really bugging me...

are you sure you have all the files in the right places, make sure your paths are correct. Put what you have so far, in you CAC Diretory, and then I can see how work.

by William from NOLA » Sun Jul 02, 2006 8:23 pm

Ok. Post what you are trying to add and i'll see what it's doing.

Edit: also show me how you edited it.
