I wouldnt say that.

They do some very underhanded things here in Ohio.

Goes from the time they review incomes and decide how much the man should pay.

If i paid her any money direct its on my back. it would hvae no effect on child support.

As far as wage garnishment thats how it goes down in Ohio for everyone.
That's kind of stupid.

So what happens if a couple split up but still get along, the dad pays child support for 5 years (gives the mom cash per their agreement), then the mom gets pee'd off at the dad.

Can see say he didn't pay anything that whole time or does it go by when the mom files for it?

Dads better start writing checks with proper memos!

They put a noose around your man parts and hang you.
The ONLY way to get around it in Ohio is to be a Contract worker, a tipped worker and hide tips or just not work/work under the table.
in Ohio they tell you what your paying, then they charge you 2% of that amount for having to pay child support. Then your employer witholds the money from your check and takes 2% for having to withold your money, then they give you whats left.
So I pay a 4% premium above my support order to fund the system.
Its a sore topic man.
Can you not just pay the child support to the ex via money order or something? I thought you only had to have it taken out of your check if you have a long history of not paying on time?

I just realized how far off topic this has gotten.. sorry!

Oh, I see.

It sounds like shes a bit of a dead beat.

Just continue paying your child support and let your kid know that you love it, that's about all you can do at this point. If you end up paying a little more in the long run it doesn't really matter, the important thing is that your kid grows up feeling loved and wanted, even if it's just by you.

Way to many guys get them self into these situation, and way to many run from there duties.

Bummer man I hate to hear that. They did the same thing to a buddy of mine at work, he didnt get a return for like 2 years.

Well it was when they were establishing the initial order.

She applied for child support and they came after me for it. I fought the amount as it was to high, which I won. Then I had to pay the new amount from the time they calculated the high amount until when they started garnishing my pay.

It took about 3 months.

I pay extra each month to pay down the owed amount. So lets just say $400 a month @ 3 months = 1200. But for whatever reason they are saying I owe 2,100... Which pretty much cant be...

Thats not the exact figures, but that is whats happening in essence.

The part I owe should ONLY of been from the time they conducted the initial review until they started garnishing my pay. I think they made an error and went to when the child was born... Which is BS it was stated in court from time the order was reviewed... Not date of birth.

I just get tired of my money supporting 4 grown ass adults and two kids. Then whats left I get to support myself and my kid when shes in my house.
