first thing I would check is the amplifier gain settings. It sounds like the amp(s) is/are clipping.

turn bass boost to zero, set gain no higher than one-quarter turn up, set phase to zero, set XO to 60Hz, and set Q (slope) to 18dB

see how that works.

If the amps aren't loud enough with those settings, you need to look for larger amplifiers.

it was the cheap walmart scoshe rca for the subs now their fine.

i'm back!!! still been having the sub problem started last week.
the sub plays normal for a while then it goes lower went through

the proccess either it's the left rca is bad or it's the sub left output coming out the radio . i will check this today. i hope it's the rca

the only thing i can think of, and this has already ben mentioned, is they are cross wired. I got a buddy at work, that had similar problem, and he had cross wired the subs. there just aint that many things that could be wrong.

I mean he has pretty much exhausted all our ideas.

I still don't think its the subs but what do i know :confused , the chances of that happening are way to small. The simple solution isn't always the easiest. Move both cones with your hand do they feel the same with in reason?

I would say that taps it... If they are both set up exactly the same and same output @ same ohm config, same everything... It has to be the sub... there could be something obstructing the cone from moving or something could be rubbing on the motor.... Who knows maybe one of his VC's is misaligned?

like captain said no matter which amp i hook it to this sub has a

lower out put than the other one. both kenwoods are bridged.
kac-7203 and kac-7252 now both has the same specs the 7203.

i am using the lp on both amps at 100 hz and gains the same.

is a 1yr newer model than the other one.

and i do value all yha comments & suggestions

you havent mentionedif the are the amps two channel?? do they have built in crossovers, i know x-over points were mentioned earlier, but does the amp have them?? if so, are they set to low pass?? is there bass boost on the amps??

What im asking is everything set exactly the same on both amps.

It can't be his gains if he switched the wires to the subs from one amp to another and the one that is giving him problems stays the same... So the only issue is the sub...
Why do you think its the sub? Lets think logically here.

The sub appears to be working, and the coils read 4.3 ohms when measured.

No physical damage and the VC is obv fine, unless the cone doesn't move, what can be broken about it?
