Hey, I was thinkin' might as well just forget it. Thanks for the offer but I don't even trust anyone around here to hook it up anyway. For what they want to hook it up? Screw that. And there's no way I'd install it properly. I'd most likely make a mess of it. Thanks again.

That depends on how your insurance covers installed equipment. I had a break in a few years back, lost my sub box, amps, head unit and a satellite controller (they left the receiver :confused ). All I needed to show were receipts and got the newer replacements of the same line. The store I bought everything from had receipts readily available on file on their computer. Insurance read that it was covered when bolted in or electrically wired to the car.

^ I was just going to suggest the same thing :thumbsup ... especially when even with an alarm, if they break into it and still steal all you've got then without the rider the insurance won't pay a dime towards all your extra goodies... Only replace with bone stock.

Yeah, I checked out their site and watched a few youtube vids of them. They look like a quality product.

So around $100 a year. That's not too shabby. I wonder if State Farm will include the system for a decent price. Or if they will include car audio at all.

But yeah, I know of at least a half dozen people that had their vehicles busted into or stolen. Didn't make a difference that they had alarms. But at least it gave them a heads up it was being busted into with the 2-way. I'm sure it's still a deterrent to some but on the other hand just a minor obstacle to others.

i have installed numerous autopage and scytek products. autopage by far has higher quality. the 2-way remotes are much better built. the AAA battery in them last much longer compared to a scytek unit. (5-6 months vs 2-3 weeks). i know, i have one installed in my car. i tossed the 2-way remote aside because i had to keep a pack of AAA batteries in my car for when the remote died.

so my advice, from alot of experience with both products, go with autopage.

Yeah? That would be badass of you. As long as it's no hassle and as long as it won't cause you any trouble. I'd hate to be the cause for you being refused or disallowed to sell a product.

i can get you an autopage 2 way paging system pretty reasonable....maybe a couple hundred or so at most.

Honestly, I'm too chicken to purchase from people off of ebay. I'm not even going to take the chance I think. Even though I can by the alarm an amp and a set of mids with change left over for the price they want for an alarm here in town. It's just not worth the risk of receiving junk or stolen items off ebay.

That said, they don't sell Autopage in town or any of the alarms you guys have mentioned anyway. So, I guess I'm just going to take chances with the thieves busting into my vehicle. Screw it, I'm not paying $600+ installed for an alarm/starter.

Call me cheap, call me stupid. I may be a little bit of both but one thing I'm not, is rich. I have other things to pay for and other things I need/want to buy. And to tell you the truth, alarms don't stop the thieves around here anyway. They bust in and steal what they want with or without alarms going off. In broad daylight too. Friggin' dinks.

So, I might as well just buy more car audio, lol. Can anybody recomend some good midbass speakers?

Again I can't agree more with Terry...
Ebay and the likes of unauthorized online dealers are a huge thorn in the side of the car audio (and even performance) industries... Many of our protected lines can be had on ebay and the likes with huge risks in many cases to the consumer... And what's even worse in many cases is that the consumer is fooled into believing that these online sellers & stores are actually authorized only because they say they are. Terry, myself, and all of your local audio shops have worked hard to get the lines we carry (in some cases having to wait 1-3 years after being in business just to be approved to carry a certain brand)... only to have people taking advantage for the almighty dollar to lie, cheat, and even steal.
I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again... ebay is a great place to find items as if it were a online garage sale with some hard to find parts and used goodies for all, but don't get fooled into thinking that just because someone has a good rating and a lot of sales that they are actually authorized dealers and that you're getting a deal... because more than 9 times out of 10, you're not, and you are only helping aid the problem.
