X2. I think the best way to buy equipment is to look at the numbers and do research first, and then ask "what should I go with". With Car Audio you can't just jump in and buy the first thing that catches your eye.
I liked the old list also, there is alot of knowledge there.

Oh no I didn't mean replace it, I meant add a tutorial with stuff we know works well. And I'm sure if we got together just a few members on the forum we could put together 50-100 system designs if we really wanted to. Could even break it down into price range.

Is this not essentially what people do in all the "is "x" product good?" threads anyway?? We offer what we know is proven to work, basically?

I think we should make an individual guide summing up recommended system design

I.E.: stuff to choose for value, stuff to choose for no holds barred performance. Give a good enough variety from members of the forum that it doesn't look like something biased to our own experiences/preferences.

Basically an idiot-proof (don't mean for that to sound harsh) way of getting a good/great quality system. You would, however, have to stick with solid, proven market performers and not the "boner of the month" kind of products.

It'd be a good way of narrowing down to specifics instead of "I know brand "x" makes garbage amplifiers, but so and so said their speakers are pretty good for the money" which may be the case, but really complicates the good, bad and ugly format.

Well lets do a big update on it then...
