Brutus Dead?

Post by CaptainPioneer »

Ok so my Hifonics BXi? 1606 Seems to be encountering a problem...

Here is the situation: Was driving and had the radio goin as usual... I havnt touched the level or any thing on it in at least 1 year. Out of no where I'm going up a hill and i smell smoke... Im thinking "I hope thats not the amp... Then just as i say that the amp cuts out and i see the red light indicating protection mode...

Now it will go out of Protection when i start my vehicle but when it tries to get louder it will go into protect... Did i fry the Mosfet??

Pull the amp out and take the cover off and have a look/pics. Just dont go poking around in it.
