dimond D600 turn on

Post by loudwagon15s »

At work today the kid i was working with showed me his stereo (2 no name 10's, with pioneer deh 4800 --same as mine-- and a diamond d600) He used a switch to turn it on, i told him he didnt have to do that, so i took a few min and re-wired his remote wire to the correct wire (i think it was on a solid blue, not striped) when i turned off the hu, the amp still was on? i checked the remote wire with dmm, and it turned off when the hu was off and went on with hu on. However, when i only connected the power and ground, the amp still turned on. I searched the terminals to see if any wires were jumping across, but couldnt find any. Has anyone ever heard of this problem, or know how to fix it? amp=Directed D600.

stuck internal relay or possibly dc voltage coming through the rcas unplug the rcas and see if it still does it. if it does id assume the amp has a relay that is bad

The amp was only turning off because he had wired the switch through the main power cable, and from the outside it didnt look like that much of a beefy switch, but i didnt have time to take that apart. Luckily there isnt that much current going through it. Next time i see him at work, i'll see if there is for sure dc current going through the rca's.
