Does anyone know anything about this amp. I have tried to find the owners manual and all Ifound was a bunch of sites wanting to sell it to me.
It was given to me by a friend. For the most part it looks good inside and out
it does have a certain amount of wear, but nothing to major.
Thanks,
Tim

if it works, give it a try. If not ... use it for a drive by amping.

Yeah sherwood isn't the greatest, but if it works and was free it won't be hard to get your money out of it.
If it doesn't you could always use it as a door stop, paper weight, or boat anchor.

you could also use it as a wheel chalk to keep your car from rolling backwards down the driveway while working on it.
Or, you could use it as part of your security sysem for your car. If you leave it on your seat in plain view over night or while you're at the store, anybody thinking about stealing your system will see it on the seat and decide breaking into your car isn't worth it, and leave you alone.
Just a couple more ideas for you so it doesn't go to waste.

Whatever the fuse ratings are on the amp may give you an idea of it's maximum power. That is, if it doesn't say so already.

Thanks for the interest guys.
I figure this amp is probably 15-20 years old. It has the old connectors(molex I think), for the connections. It has one plug for the power connections and one plug for the speaker connections, with the appropiate number of wires coming from each.
It has two 30 amp fuses. Just the regular blade style fuses.
As I said before it is in pretty good shape, cosmetically. I opened it up the other day and all the connections are good, the board looks good, there are a couple questionable spots though. There are a couple caps on the board and it looks like they may have swelled some because the paper on them has come loose, and it looks like some kind of black goo has ran down and stuck to the board. It does have a burnt smell but not the "money" burnt smell.
Thanks again

Yeah tim sorry if we sound like were making fun of your amp, its just that sherwood has a pretty high failure rate.
