Today while I was at the parts store I ran into some kid that I know, we were talking about cars and I asked him about my old s10 that I sold him.

The s10 had a bunch of work done to it, built 4.3, beefed up tranny, gears and posi. It was probably a low 14 second truck, pretty fast for what it was..

Well he said he kept it for a while and then sold it to some kid. Well the kid apperently likef to race it, and one night while racing a 96 mustang he lost control and flipped it several times, he won the race but lost his life... :sad017:

This is why we take it to the track and not the streets.

Sorry to hear about the kid :sad017:

But yeah, it's ALWAYS better to go to a track... Most of the tracks have time for head to heads and even High School/ College nights during the week for these lil grudge matches and it's always at a cut rate like $15-20 bucks to race all you want and personal bets go on there all the time... cheaper than a ticket, bail for jail, hospital bill, or the costs of your parents flipping for a funeral... Race Safe, Smart, and Legal :thumbsup

A cousin of mine (I have far too many cousins, but anyway...) used to street race a lot until he killed someone. Apparantly they walked out into the road during a race and he ran right into them. He went to jail for manslaughter.

That is probably the biggest reason not to do it.

It's senseless.

My cousin was a drunk and drug addict. He and his friend were on there way home from a party and my cousin was doing an est. 120 mph down the interstate when he lost control and flipped his car several times, killing his friend and nearly killing himself as well....

The picture in the paper told the story well, the car was a twisted piece of metal, empty beer cans all over the ground, and the passenger side seat was covered in blood... The only reason my cousin lived was because he was thrown out of the car...

6 months in the hospital and as soon as he gets out he starts back with his old ways...

I hope for your cousins sake he learned a life lesson and made a change for the better...
