Soo.... besides for installing these and using them for the brief time inside customers vehicles, I kinda like the deck. I probably won't use any of the add on features (satellite radio, ipod, etc...).

Whats everyone's thoughts/opinions on this deck?

I get it for $195 + taxes. Any other deck in this price range that'll outdue this headunit?

BTW, I plan on buying a deck by the end of the week, since I will probably build my box for my RE SX sometime later this week as well.

I like my Alpine. I mostly love the SQ.

I do feel I have less control over the sound than when I did with Pioneer.

Thats the only thing I'm afraid of. The Alpine only has a HPF, whereas the Pioneer's have a LPF and HPF.

Maybe tomorrow night if I'm not busy at work, I will play with it some more.

I considered that deck some time ago.

Its an alright deck...

But if you spend $80 more, you can get your hands on an 880PRS... That time alignment makes a HUGE difference!

I'm really not looking to spend much over $200 as it is. Too many bills to pay.

Thats why I'm wondering if there is anything else around the $200 range that will have better quality, 4v output, and a decent equalizier over this Alpine.

2v 4v 6v and 9v preouts dont mean a damn thing. it really doesnt do anything to aide your sq your spl or anything else. just changes the way you set your amps.

I prefer not to touch the gain all too much.

But... if that is truly the case, then what would you recommend in the $200 range for a deck.

once the gain is set y would you need to touch it?

call terry at sound solutions he's got some pretty spiffy decks at great prices. i myself prefer panasonic and cheap kenwoods.
