Audiopipe Amps?

Are they any good? The ones in question are the GD-6001 and AP-3001. Do they do rated power? How durable are they? How is the build quality and reliabity? I know that the GD-6001 is CEA Compliant so it should do rated if not more but I am worried about the quality of the amps. I want first hand experience not what people have heard. Thanks in advance for the feedback. If not that good name some amps that are in the same price and power range.

me and you have talked about these many many times. there is nothing wrong with them for a budget amp but there not a quaility amp.

^I agree with this statement... Because I like smoker am also an Audiopipe dealer and can say that they will do rated power, but at not produce as high quality of sound as many better amps.

You're not gonna get rated power @ 12Volts, No, but CEA rated them at 14.4V for accurate power... So if you're running a lil lower (say 13.8-14.2V) it's gonna come close enough for a decent daily driver, but I wouldn't recommend for high power applications where accuracy counts such as competitive SPL ;)

I am looking for a budget amp that will put out a true 2-3kwRMS for a daily driver. If Audiopipe is not a good choice what would be? And you say they are not clean power the THD is 0.2% on the Ap-3001 and 0.5% on the GD-6001. I have seen amps that cost more than these with higher THD than that. What else would cause the power to be dirty?

yea and a legacy says 2000w on the case.

they may put out power at a constant .5thd through a range of wattages and a range of freq but that doesn't mean as the the amp produces higher power the THD will stay the same. but for comparison my Autotek does more than rated power at less than .1% THD. but if its just a daily street beater and you have decent subs and are good about volume the amp will be just fine.
