good or bad buy?

just bought a jl12w7 for 125 shipped..it reads 6 ohm on voice coil and is off track or w.e at the top...thought it was blown...but guess not..what is ur guy's guess...misalined vc.?

Screwed up? It should read 3 ohm.

if the coil should read 3 ohm and its reading six thats not good. and if its shifted its a dead woofer.

If the magnet has shifted, you wasted 125$. If it's just a VC or cone issue, get a recone. I don't want to know how much one of those would be from JL though

Does the cone move in and out at all when you push on it? Or is it scraping at all? If it's not playing in the condition it's in now, sounds like it's going to be an extremely expensive adventure to get it working again.
